There are times in life when we feel like the little guy in situations as people or problems we face seem like giants in our sight. I know I have personally encounter several people and scenarios that caused me to curl up in fear, but looking back I regret having fear in mind at all. When we set the Lord as God in our life and He is our shield, then fear should be absent and only faith should prevail.
“Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.'” (1 Samuel 17:45-47 NKJV).
Just as David was the little guy and but a youth in the sight of the army of Israel, he stood firm in the promises and power of the Lord God, ready to fight against the giant and prevail. We are faced the the same thing on a day to day basis and it is up to us to stand firm in the word and power of God, and face the giants that try and put us down.
Every giant looks different and every person perceives their own giants differently than others, but regardless of what giants you may be faced with know that the Lord is with you and you are a over comer in Christ Jesus. Stand firm and pronounce victory over the evil that tries to suppress you and move forward in faith. The Good Lord has provided us with all things necessary to live victorious and ultimately bring Him glory.
When we defeat our giants we are then a living testimony to the power of God. Standing firm provides an example to both believers and non-believers as how to live for God victoriously. Let us be vessels of God, regardless of size or stature, and move forward ready to defeat the evil that lurks throughout the land before us. Let us go shine forth God’s light to the lost world around us in such a way to win others to Christ and light up the world. God bless!
