As Christians we are to walk and live in the Spirit while being adjusted and sensitive to the voice of God as He lays things upon our hearts. Typically when He lays something upon our hearts it is to either guide us to where He wants us to be or to teach us something to help us grow spiritually in Him. God teaches us and guides us through this life by and through all experiences and it’s up to us to stay close enough to Him to see and hear what He is teaching us or where He is guiding us.

“Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.” (Psalm 25:4-5 NKJV).

When we become sensitive to the Spirit and keen to learning, we then can realize and see all that God is teaching us each day and moment in time. Sometimes He will teach us through the most simple and minute looking scenario and if we are not careful we can overlook the opportunity to learn and grow. Whether great or small, God teaches us through all things as His Holy Spirit reveals them to us.

“For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” (Hebrews 12:6).

c7fbbd93Sometimes the lessons to be learned are hard and enduring as the Lord chastens us in order that we learn to live lives that are pleasing to Him. Others are easier to bear as they are ultimately to teach us more about Him as we come to know Him better and the path in which He has called us to go down. What areas do you feel the Lord speaking to you today? Are you going through a hard learning lesson of chastisement or a little easier lesson of life and coming closer to the Lord?
